The wing & wings

“The Wind and Wings marks the role of NTU as the world’s first Youth Olympic Village (YOV) for the inaugural Youth Olympics Games in Singapore. The Wind powers the Wings of change, and signifies the gathering of young athletes from around the world at the YOV of NTU. The communion of rain, butterfly, budding shoot and silver ‘shadow that spouts from the ground, suggests new encounters and friendships that generate respect and inspire the quest for excellence in the Games. Award-winning sculptor Yeo Chee Kiong uses his signature ‘bulbous’ forms to create metamorphosis – referring to the transformative experience the athletes would undergo in the Games and the Village.” Legacy Sculpture for Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Village, published by Nanyang Technological University, pg.6.” Quote Note: The Wind & Wings, Legacy Sculpture for Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Village, Nanyang Technological University.
