Artist statement
Awaken Sleeper (Hong Kong Sculpture Symposium 2012):
Through a six-set (twelve pieces) interlocking burr-puzzle, nu-ban-suo （鲁班锁），also to be recognized as part of the invention of architectural interlocking system of ancient China, I intended to re-assemblage the collected ‘sleeper’ on the railway for a period as long as fifty years, into a modern contemporary sculpture. With the original shape and the characteristic texture, I have preserved the glory pass of Hong Kong MTR history into a contemporary sculpture, like a raising Northern Star to point out the bright future.
