Lianhe Zaobao 90th Anniversary Celebration
One Cubic Singapore invites you to participate in this interactive work by Artist Yeo Chee Kiong. 16 participants will be standing on the artist’s sculpture - a white platform of a Chinese Calligraphic character ‘New’ (pronounce as ‘Xin’, which is also the first of the three Chinese words of Singapore), to form a “perfect” cube by trying to achieve “equality” through negotiating their standing heights. The interactive processes will be photographed and documented.
‘新加坡立方体’是一座以汉字‘新’为基底造型 的180 平方厘米的白色木制雕塑底座。底座上设有十六个不同高低的站立位置，邀請十六位不同高度的參與者著上全身白站立其上，共同组成一个完美的白色立方体，一起探索‘齐头平’的社会与职场生活上平等共生的积极意义 。将制作影像作品和全程录影纪实作为可能的展出作品之一。
‘新’：新加坡，新时代，新视野，新想法，新文明社会，新移民。。。
‘白色’ ：白色是一种包含光谱中所有颜色光的颜色，通常被认为是“无色”的。 以白色的‘无色相’来中和一组十六位参与者的不同个人属性，从而营造出单一无区别的一致性。白色的一致性也突显了十六位参与者的不同的面色，发色，瞳孔的颜色，犹如白色蛋糕上的白色蜡烛上的不同颜色的烛焰，所展现的活泼生命力。
‘心形’踏脚处：‘新’的谐音。隐喻心灵，犹如向上的心形箭头，从心出发，人心所向。

游戏规则：参与者须运用各种方式，增加或缩短自己的身高，使各自的身高加上基座的高度，恰符和一个‘完美’立方体的高度。
