This organic sculptural installation expresses the respect for the environment and a commitment to an environmentally friendly Youth Olympic Games. It features 205 ceramic slats representing the 205 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) that participated in Singapore 2010, the inaugural Youth Olympic Games.
The Ceramic Armor wraps around the tree, symbolically shielding it from urban pollution and harm. Different sectors of the community participated in a mass dance to imprint on the ceramic slats as their pledge to reduce their carbon footprints. This was performed as part of CAN! GREEN, a festival held in support of an environmentally friendly YOG.
